REMINISCENCE of Chennai!!!
Landed in this city on 8th may with full of excitement...reasons for excitement were many...being independent at a new place, what this phase of life called internship has in hand for me for next 3 months, how would the new flat and flat mates be,to explore the city which I don't know much about....
and now when I look back, everything has been quite eventful and a lot of experience.....
This city perfectly suits the description of the fourth most populous metropolitan area and 5thmost populous city in India..A city with a strong industrial base ,giving a lot of importance to culture,"Detroit of Asia!"....Before coming here ,the only thing i kept on hearing is ,it's not a clean city!,i partially agree to it,all the boasting by my friend Arun about how great his native is,well now I agree Arun, your place is great as you always wanted me to say....and another redundant saying by my aunt,"ammu..if a madrassi likes you, they will love like anything !"..agree to my aunt.Unlike,Coimbatore, the people here guide you properly if you ask them a direction and I was surprised by their enthusiasm to tell me exactly and also giving me a lot of options..
You name any kind of fun,Chennai has that for you..now a trend has been to celebrate weekend parties at beaches rather than pubs, the reason being that all pubs close by 11 , as per the instruction of the new government.....and it sounds perfect when you have a lot of beaches like Marina,Eliot's...beaches are a must visit for anyone here..where you can see families enjoying even till late nights, ice cream vendors and road side eat-outs doing brisk business...
Another thing which requires a special mention is the infrastructure and less traffic blocks ,inspite of the fact that it's a big city with a lot of people..My friends from Chennai say its because of the DMK government..Well praises to DMK for that...A week after I reached, I was fortunate to see the victory of AIADMK,not because I support the party, what i mean here is to see the supporters celebrating- on the roads..dancing,shouting out slogans...and all the happiness on their faces..trust me it was worth watching..and all the media news about supporters cutting tongue and much more which make you say, crazy people! they are crazy ,but at the same time - sweet people...a week after that Chennai was again celebrating ..yes am talking about the victory of Chennai Super Kings..in short,Chennai was celebrating after my arrival..lol..
The daily train journeys has been strenuous ,but I got few friends because of it,you obviously would get when you see the same people everyday rushing to catch the train, with anxiety as you..now talking about my new friends here ,I should say about the wonderful people I met here, especially my flat mates....will definetly miss all the chit chats, cooking, watching movies late night, hangouts, shopping and much more....Maria-my roommate who really did make my initial days eventful, girl I just miss you... , Aparna-the sweet one who give you tips on beauty and cooking,Supriya-the one who has opinion for each and everything and I just loved iritating this "AMAZING "(u know why it is in caps!) person..Lakshmi-my new roomie-what to say, again a person full of energy and gets along with everyone very well-"karate kid!",Viji-again a sweet person...last but not the least, the people at my office -ARCHEAN who treated me like a part of the company and helped me in understanding an idea of what my future job would be like...Well,that requires more to be said with more experiences....
Every blog of mine has to have something regarding the wonderful people I meet..it is just inevitable..because that's something I like doing now..be at new places and get to meet new people, observe them and understand different cultures and way of living.....nowadays I seriously feel I should have learnt psychology..but too late and I don't want to think much as regrets are the last thing I want in my life.I just hope I would be able to do it till I get bored which is quite not possible..So am signing off for now.,.hopefully should be back with a new experience in life....
"It's always the people who make a place wonderful or boring anywhere you go!"
